The growth of contactless tech “NFC” in the COVID-19 era

In the digital age, many industries have disrupted by technologies and changes. For example, cashless payment and digital healthcare arise for replacing the old methods we used to. Also, it has a significant role in our daily life. One of the technologies that are growing is Contactless Communication that can use to craft innovation for supporting and making convenience to people’s life.

Especially in this year, 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak has killed millions of people all over the world. Therefore, controlling and prevention are being a top priority action to secure our life by doing a physical distancing and less contacting between us. Consequently, the contactless feature and technology have become a vital choice of technology usage. The NFC is one of the contactless technologies that brought to use widely in many industries which directly affect our daily life and change our lives into the new normal mode.

What is NFC?

NFC stands for “Near Field Communication”. It is a mainstream wireless technology using radio waves for communication in a short-range between the receiver and the sender. It is a part of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology because of using the same method as the radio waves for identifying and tracking the objects. NFC uses the high carrier frequency at 13.56 MHz and exchanges the data in the range of up to 4 centimeters.

NFC consists of two components: the reader or NFC smartphone and NFC device. We just intentionally bring the reader near or tap on the NFC device then they will connect and transfer the data within a short time around 1-10 seconds.

The use case examples, as we have already applied it in vastly industries, for instance, financial and banking, medical, transportation, toys & game, etc. These are just a few examples of use cases. The NFC can create much more exciting innovation for leading a better future. Please stay tuned for grabbing a new tech update here with us!
