Design IC Layout in block level and sub-system for analog and mixed-signal circuits.
What You’ll Do
- Design IC layouts at the block level and sub-system level for analog and mixed-signal circuits in the CMOS process using EDA tools.
- Sign off on block-level layout designs through DRC and LVS.
- Generate a physical silicon information document (including packaging, die shot allocation, and pinout details).
- Collaborate with supervisors, layout designers, circuit design engineers, and chip architects to ensure interfaces among blocks and compatibility with the overall system.
- Prepare layout reports and documents to support project management.
- Verify and review layout designs done by peers.
- Assist circuit design engineers upon request, such as circuit testing, drafting preliminary schematics, and providing design area summaries.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any related field.
- 0+ years of experience in Layout
- Experience in using EDA tools for IC layout, such as Cadence Virtuoso or Synopsys Custom Compiler.
- Knowledge of electronic components in integrated circuits, semiconductor fabrication processes, and differences in each technology node.
- Knowledge of IC layout principles, such as placement, matching, power bus, parasitic-sensitive net avoidance, clock routing, and block floor planning.
- Capabilities to read documents from foundries to understand layout layers, their purpose, device formation, caution, and guidelines.
- Capabilities to understand the purpose of the circuit and identify irregularities in the schematic from chip designers.
- Capabilities to interpret schematic diagrams into IC layout components and routing.
- Capabilities to resolve DRC errors and LVS mismatches with minimum supervision.
- Capabilities to pay attention to detail and accuracy in circuit placement and routing.
- Capabilities to follow layout design guidelines and rules carefully.
- Capabilities to calculate information from layout and EDA reports, e.g., parasitic capacitance, missing capacitors, matching levels.
- Effective communication and role acknowledgment within a team.
- High level of responsibility.
- Quick learner with adaptability.
- Creativity and skill in problem-solving.
- Not color-blind.
- English reading and writing skill.
- Knowledge about basic electronic and circuit design in IC.
- Experience in electronic hobby.
