Design and develop advanced embedded hardware and firmware, ensuring quality through testing and validation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct design reviews, document processes, and research new technologies to support product and IC development.
What You’ll Do
- Design new and complex embedded system hardware and firmware to support both embedded products development and IC product development.
- Verify that designed hardware and firmware adhere to specifications through rigorous testing.
- Define test cases, test plans, and test benches for verification to address ordinary cases, stress cases, and use cases.
- Define designing plan for assigned hardware, firmware, software or systems.
- Ensure released block or system meets specifications by suggesting tests, reviewing evaluation/qualification results, and recommending necessary validation cases.
- Create technical documents to facilitate R&D procedures, knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate directly with other engineer/ IC designers/chip architects to ensure compatibility with overall systems.
- Verify and review designs done by both peers and subordinates, including PCB layout, firmware/software structure, functional correctness.
- Research and study topics related to embedded system, applications, electronic system, digitalinterface, new protocols, future software development.
- Undertake additional assignments as required to support departmental objectives.
Who You Are
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any related field
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience in embedded system development and electronicshardware design
- Skills and strong foundation in coding in low-level C programming for microcontroller, including bit manipulation, pointer operations, and variable typing.
- Skills in designing PCB through CAD/design tools with knowledge in signal integrity and manufacturing, affecting performance.
- Proficient in using measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzer and result interpretation and assisting software for debugging.
- Experience in complex firmware and hardware development, block-and-system interfaces, or basic software development.
- Experience in co-development of embedded system product or SICT IC product demonstration/application.
- Experience in developing test plans and making decisions based on evaluation results.
- Capability to justify block specifications and the required time/resources.
- Capability to provide new implementable solutions to meet design requirements.
- Capability to define the required time/resources for a target specification and performance.
- Capability to justify trade-offs under constraints and limited resources.
- Experience in electronic circuit analysis and defining electronic component properties.
- Experience in development algorithms into designed firmwares with optimum solutions.
- Experience in developing test plan and asset test results.
- Presentable command of the English language.
- Knowledge of RFID circuit design and protocols.
- Knowledge of digital IC design, or IC testing/calibration.
- Knowledge of the related product application, measurement technique.
